A journey built through research
Ana Maria da Silva’s journey began in 2008, during undergraduate studies, in projects related to introducing fish into school meals in Marechal Cândido Rondon. Her research later moved through different environments, from work with artisanal fishing communities in Rio de Janeiro to a PhD in Sustainable Rural Development at Unioeste.
From academic research to purpose-driven innovation
Throughout this journey, knowledge about mechanically separated fish meat, processing and utilization opened the door to new applications. During a difficult family moment, Ana Maria directed that technical background toward developing a protein ice cream, seeking to combine comfort of consumption with higher protein intake.
